Knowing What To Do And Doing It Are Not The Same Thing
In the workshop, everything made sense. But the real test happens at home, in the moment, when nobody is calm.
You may understand that shouting is not helping. But what do you do at 8 AM when your child refuses to get ready and you are already late?
You may understand that you should hold a boundary. But what do you do when they cry for 30 minutes and you are exhausted?
You may understand that you need to pause. But how do you pause when you can already feel yourself about to shout?
That gap between understanding and responding is exactly what these 4 days are for.
Understand
What is happening? What am I doing now? What could I do differently? You leave with a clearer way of looking at everyday situations.
Practise & Go Deeper
How do I actually apply this at home? More time, more depth, more examples, real practice and discussion, so the calmer response becomes yours.
One Theme A Day. Each Day Goes Deeper Than the Workshop.
The workshop introduced each of these areas. Here, we work through them properly: depth, specific examples, real situations and practice.
The four days are not four separate lessons. Tap a day to see what it pulls on.
Understanding What Is Happening
“How do I actually understand this specific behaviour in my child?”
- Behaviour patterns and personal triggers, in depth
- What happens before the behaviour: the hidden part of the situation
- Needs versus wants, and the child behind the visible behaviour
- Age and developmental differences
- Why the same situations keep repeating in your home
Boundaries and Cooperation
“What do I do after I say no and my child keeps fighting the boundary?”
- Discipline and consequences, in depth
- Following through when a boundary is tested again and again
- Empty threats: why they happen and how to stop needing them
- Power struggles and repeated boundary testing
- Getting cooperation without constant conflict
Big Emotions and Difficult Moments
“Let's work through actual emotional situations in more depth.”
- Anger, prolonged tantrums and resistance
- What happens during escalation, moment by moment
- What to do afterwards, once everyone is calm
- Specific examples from home, worked through together
- Holding a boundary while your child is upset
The Parent's Reaction
“Why do I keep reacting in ways I promised myself I wouldn't?”
- Personal triggers, stress, exhaustion and guilt
- Why you react despite knowing what you want to do
- Repeated reactions and patterns from your own childhood
- Shouting: what it costs and what to do instead
- Repair after mistakes, and becoming a more intentional parent
This Is Not Four More Hours of Theory
Over four connected days, the same cycle repeats, with your real situations at the centre:
You understand the day's theme.
You look at a real situation from your home.
You decide what you want to try differently.
You try it, in real life.
You come back and discuss what happened.
- One hour a day, live on Zoom, in the same small group of parents
- We take what you learned in the workshop and apply it to real, specific situations
- You bring the actual moments from your week: the morning refusal, the meltdown, the fight at bedtime
- We work out, together, how the same situation could go differently next time
- Relevant questions from the group are discussed every day
One workshop can help you see things differently. Applying that understanding when life gets difficult takes more than hearing an idea once. Over four connected days, you have time to explore, try, reflect and return with what actually happened.
This Programme Is For You If...
- You attended the 2-hour Positive Parenting Workshop
- You understand what to look at, but the difficult moment still wins
- You want depth: behaviour, boundaries, big emotions and your own reactions
- You want to practise with real situations, not just hear more theory
- You want the same group of parents beside you while you change
If you have not attended the 2-hour workshop yet, start there. This programme builds directly on it.
Who You Will Be Practising With
The programme is conducted by a YesParenting facilitator who works with parents and families through live group programmes and one-to-one sessions.
The approach is practical and non-judgmental. No blaming parents, no ideal-child theories. The four days focus on what actually changes at home: practice, feedback and repetition.
